hello everyone, could anybody help me with syncing the mnemosyne data via a server. IÂŽm totally new with mnemosyne and IÂŽm also not a computer specialist. I have no idea how to set up a server or what to enter into the "server" field . I would like to sync my mnemosyne data so that I can work on different mac machines and on my android phone.
Do I need to buy or rent s0me server space? Sorry for being so stupid, I just want to learn japanese :-)

thank you all in advance :-)

Hi,

The 'server' is just your Mnemosyne running on your main machine.

Everything is explained here: https://mnemosyne-proj.org/help/syncing

Cheers,

Peter

Hi,

Use 192.168.1.109

Make sure you’re on the same wifi network, though, and there’s no firewall or router blocking the transmission.

Cheers,

Peter

thank you for your reply! unfortunately each time I enter the data in the
"sync" dialog and press "sync" , the app stops/crashes and I get a
notification " app is stopped". I tried it several times with uninstalling
and reinstalling the app, deleting the mnemosyne folder etc. always the
same result. any idea what is wrong?

Hi,

That’s not good
Is this with the latest version installed from Google Play?

Unfortunately, I need more debug information to see what’s going on on your side. It requires installing Android Studio on your pc, connecting your phone over USB to your pc, starting Mnemosyne on your phone, and collecting the debug information that gets printed. It’s not extremely straightforward (but also not extremely complicated), but without that information there’s nothing more I can do

Cheers,

Peter
