[mnemosyne-proj-users] Card type of multisided cards disappeared

Hi Peter,

another bug.

I have imported some other Anki cards. Now, right after the import I get an unknown field {{FRONTSIDE}} or something similar in front template. The field should be called {{freq rank}}.

Hi Peter,
I have imported an Anki deck of cards. After the import the cards in the set had four sides (something, audio, translation, sentence). Since on the question side has only been the audio, I changed the position of the audio. Well, now the cards don't have a card type in "show cards from these card types". They are displayed, even though no card type has been activated in "show cards from these card types". When I click on "change card type" "Front-to-back only" is active.
If I try to convert the the cards to twosided cards I get to choose four items for front and back side. In the cards browser the cards look like "front to back only" cards. Weird.
I can't edit the card type either, there is no card type displayed in "Manage card types".
I might have changed the card type to "Front to back - Back to front " card type, after changing the position of the multisided cards contents. I am not sure.

Hello Peter,

I have done, what you have asked me to do. I started with an empty database.

I could not reproduce the error yet. There might be a problem in
converting the m-sided cards to two-sided cards though. They seem to be
already present (screenshots attached).

By the way in my real database (not the test database above; Screenshots
attached):

- When I want to edit the cards, they are displayed empty: The answer
and the question textbox is empty. When I do repetitions, they are
displayed correctly like all the other cards.

- Even, if there is no card type selected, all those imported/converted
cards are still visible in the cards browser.

- The cards seem to be one-sided cards?!! They should be two-sided cards
(I might have missclicked.).

Hi, I'm still having problems with synch. I input cards on my PC

sync and then learn on my tablet. Each time I sync the app brings up the
first cards I input and have learned not the new ones. What am I doing
wrong?

Do you remember exactly how these cards were created? I see from your database that they were created in 2016, and since then, there have been quite some bugfixes. If you can recreate this on an empty database with the current version of Mnemosyne, I have something concrete to look into. Without further info, it's going to be almost impossible to figure out what was going on, I'm afraid...

Hi Peter,

there is a difference in between the number of cards in the statistics
window and the "browse cards" window.

I have tagged all the cards in the tag "Turkish" with another tag
"Turkish2". There is screenshot below, which shows that they both
contain the same number of cards (20360).

If you take a look at the statistics window, there is a difference in
the number of cards. The tag "Turkish2" still has the same number of
cards as displayed in the "Browse cards" window. The tag "Turkish" seems
to have 26844 cards in the statistics window.

That is a difference of 6484 cards.

Why is there this difference?

I still think, that it is connected to the Anki import and/or the
conversion from one card type to another. Or it might be connected to
double tagging of cards (e.g.: "Turkish, Turkish::AnotherTag").

Hi,

This is because your cards have both "Turkishâ and âTurkish::AnotherTag", which confuses the system. If your card has âTurkish::AnotherTagâ, it will automatically be part of the âTurkishâ family, and 2.6.1 will not allow you anymore to explicitly add the âTurkishâ tag again. So, feel free to also delete that âTurkishâ tag in your current database. Given that you can now look at the statistics of parent tags, thereâs no reason anymore for a card to have a separate âTurkishâ tag at the same time as a âTurkish::AnotherTagâ.

For your first bug, can you tell me which Anki deck you imported and what exactly you changed in the card type?

Note that editing Anki card types in such a way that it changes the number of sister cards is not yet supported. Normally, there should be a check to prevent you from doing that, but perhaps the check did not trigger here.
